Your donations to the Chatham Kent Women’s Centre not only help women and children but they also help the environment. By keeping good quality used clothing and other items and donating them to organizations you are keeping them out of landfills.
Donation Items We Accept:
* gently used or new clothing
* accessories
* house wares
* portable TV’s, stereos
* DVD’s, CD’s, videos
* books
* shoes
* non-violent toys and games
* craft materials
* new personal care items
* diapers and baby clothing
* gently used or new bedding/pillows
* non-perishable food and fresh produce
If you have furniture or large appliances that you would like a woman to have, you can call the Centre at 519-351-9145 and we will put up a notice on our board with your contact information and time limit for contact.
WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR DONATIONS?
Donations are sorted and distributed to women and children who access the Emergency Shelter. Women using Outreach services throughout Chatham-Kent also receive your donations.
We are extremely grateful for the donations given by the community. Because of limited storage we are unable to keep everything donated. Items left after women have had an opportunity to sort through are shared with other helping organizations.
Donations are accepted seven days a week from 7 am to 9 pm.

Do you have a truck and are interested in helping women move into their new homes? Please call the Volunteer Coordinator to complete an application to become a Moving Volunteer.

The Chatham Kent Women's Centre is the proud recipient of a hand-made quilt created by Darien and Hailey of St. Anne School in Blenheim. The girls donated the quilt for the comfort of the women and children who stay at the shelter.
